Changes in tryptase levels during cardiac surgery in patients at low risk for allergic reactions

چکیده

Tryptase test can be used as a clinical marker of mast cell activation. The present study is was aimed to identify variations in serum tryptase levels and their possible relationships with allergic reactions protamine low-risk patients undergoing cardiac bypass surgery. Thirty according American Society Anesthesiologists physical status III who underwent surgery were enrolled. This prospective, non-randomised, conducted an operating room. Venous blood samples for measurements obtained from upon admission the room immediately before 30 min after initiation administration. Signs recorded management steps based on rapid effect response-based assessments diagnosis treatment decisions during administrations described. Serum signs reactions, primarily mean arterial pressure (MAP), recorded. increased significantly progressively procedure (study power, 80%; sample size, 28; power analysis, 99.8% α=0.05); however, did not reach sufficiently high level confirm reaction. MAP heart rate decreased 50% patients. Although when compared baseline levels, protamine-associated increases significant failed provide unequivocal indication response protamine.

Perioperative changes in platelet count and function in patients undergoing cardiac surgery

Background: Patients undergoing cardiac surgery are at increased risk of bleeding due to multifactorial coagulopathies. In the present study, we aimed at investigating the changes in platelet count and function during and after surgery as well as determining the association of the platelet dysfunction with bleeding and transfusion requirements in these patients.    Methods: A total o...

Increased tryptase in children with allergic reactions to hazelnut

Background Mast cells are activated during allergic reactions, releasing inflammatory mediators that include tryptase. This process leads to the symptoms of an allergic reaction. A transient increase in the total level of serum tryptase indicates mast cell activation, e.g. an anaphylactic reaction. This may help to confirm and assess the extent of a systemic reaction. In the current study, the ...

Nitric Oxide Levels in Patients with Acute Allergic Reactions

Background: Nitric oxide(NO) has been considered as a marker of inflammatory and allergic conditions in humans, but its role in human anaphylaxis has not been examined. The hypothesis that NO release is associated with clinical and laboratory aspects of anaphylaxis was examined in this study. Methods: Serum from patients who had acute allergic reactions was assayed for nitric oxide levels. The ...

The prospective validation of EuroSCORE II risk scoring system for patients underwent cardiac surgery: brief report

Background: Various prediction models have been developed aiming to estimate risk-adjusted mortality, morbidity and length of intensive care unit stay following cardiac surgeries. The European system for cardiac operative risk evaluation II (EuroSCORE II) is a prediction model which maps 18 predictors to a 30-day post-operative risk of death. The objective of this study was to evaluate the perf...

Congenital Hypofibrinogenemia Detected during Preoperative Workup for Major Cardiac Surgery

Afibrinogenemia or hypofibrinogenemia is a quantitative defect in fibrinogen. It is a rare disease with estimated frequency of 1 in 1,000,000 population. Routine preoperative screening tests of coagulation disorders are insufficient to detect subtle disorders of fibrinogen. Herein, we report a child who was supposed to undergo open cardiac surgery for a large atrial septal defect. Preoperative ...
